A Luxury Wedding in Capri
Sugokuii Events was the event designer of an exclusive Italian destination wedding, custom designed by Diana Sorensen in June of this year on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy. Mrs. Sorensen designs vintage inspired and contemporary weddings with an Italian twist and has previously done so in New York, Dubai and most of Italy. She has a design office in Capri where she designs both intimate and large weddings for an international clientele, primarily in Capri and also for couples wanting to get married in other parts of Italy, such as Tuscany, Rome and Venice.
This beautiful Italian inspired wedding, was designed for an American couple based in San Francisco who invited guests from all over the world to join them for a weekend in Capri.
All guests were lodged at the beautiful J.K. Capri hotel with the couple staying in the penthouse suite. Welcome bags were arranged in all the rooms filled with Italian treats in custom made beach totes. Custom designed maps and stationary helped guests find their way around Capri to the many venues booked for the weekend – including a private boat trip around Capri on a beautiful yacht.
The wedding itself, was something out of a fairy-tale, with an intimate church wedding on one of the most beautiful roads in Capri. The church was decorated with olive branches and rosemary, bougainville and peonies in colours typical for Capri by the famous florist Domenico Ruggiero of Capri Flor. The couple were then followed by the local Scialapopolo folk band throughout Capri to the open air taxis of Capri that took them to a 3 level restaurant they had rented for the evening by the sea in Anacapri. A 5 course dinner was served while being accompanied by a famous Italian pianist and a mandolinist. After dinner, the top level of the restaurant served as an outdoor dancing spot under the stars and mini gelati, mini frullati(=Italian style smoothies), mini granitas and more were passed alongside the custom designed Italian cocktail bar, that Mrs. Sorensen designed for the event as well as special rented white lounge furniture and hurricane candles and lanterns giving the perfect lighting for the evening.
The restaurant was draped in white linen from the famous boutique, 100% Capri, from where Mrs. Sorensen had custom designed the linen draped throughout the restaurant as decor, as well as the monogrammed linen napkins functioning as name cards and table cloths. The groom was also dressed in 100% Capri clothing custom designed for the wedding.
Other details throughout the weekend included custom designed gelato vouchers for all their guests, an after dinner club evening at the very famous Anema e Core club, where guests danced on tables to the Neapolitan music of Guido Lembo, a trip to Nerano, sun lounging with customized spa pampering around the pool at a private villa, an Italian inspired Sunday brunch with Sicilian jazz orchestra and much, much more. All in all, it was a wedding to remember in Capri that still has people talking.
